Ke'Don Franklin
Industrial Designer
Ke'Don Franklin is an African-American industrial designer specializing in product and industrial design. His projects currently combine the elegant expressionism of Copenhagen design with retro minimalism from German design elements. Ke'Don now lives in San Fransisco and has designed for numerous global companies, including Fitbit, Xiaomi, Peloton, BSE, and Zepp.
As a graduate of the Savannah College of Arts and Design with a degree in industrial design and a minor in architecture, in Savannah, Georgia, where he studied. In these formative years, Ke'Don honed his artistic language, design skills, and knowledge of technology, materials, processes, and techniques, which has since continued to develop professionally.
Ke'Don discovered a passion for industrial design, as a field that combines his interests in architecture and product design has driven him to become a well-rounded design professional. Some of the most noted attributes that allow him to stand out are his relentless work ethic, drive for knowledge, and passion for craftsmanship. This mindset and work ethic transitioned him from the humble beginnings he faced as a once homeless young man of relying on his ability to draw to survive each day.
Fearlessly, he is an individual who continues to believe and sees more in himself despite the odds stacked against him, coming from such a tough background. To him, being an industrial designer is more than a position or occupation; it's his life. Using his experiences, he now mentors other young designers and groups to share and inspire them to believe in themselves and to create passionately.

Philosophy
"Design that harmonizes function, form, aesthetic, and storytelling."
I'm an industrial designer focused on shaping products where form is informed by use, material, and intent. My work is grounded in craft and clarity, with close attention to proportion, surface, and detail from concept through execution. Each decision is deliberate, ensuring that every line and form serves both function and meaning. While rooted in consumer electronics and wearables, my practice extends beyond category boundaries, applying the same rigor and sensitivity to new product spaces.
I design with the belief that well-made objects carry stories, evoke emotion, and create lasting connection through experience.
