Fold Phone | Season 1
Fold began with a fascination for the way objects move.

Not simply to open or close, but to transform in a way that feels natural, gentle, and deeply intentional. We wanted to design a folding phone that did not celebrate its mechanism, but allowed it to disappear into a single, resolved gesture.

Many folding devices feel engineered first and considered second. Hinges dominate. Seams interrupt. Surfaces compete for attention. Fold was created with a different intention, to feel complete whether open or closed.

The rear enclosure is reduced to a calm, uninterrupted plane. Soft radii guide the eye around the object, allowing the camera to sit within a balanced horizontal band. Nothing shouts. Nothing distracts. The form feels inevitable, as if it could not be simpler without losing its purpose.

The hinge appears only as a fine, brushed line. It feels precise and measured, quietly connecting both halves into one continuous silhouette. In the hand, the motion is fluid and composed. It feels less like a mechanical action and more like a natural transition.

I introduced a translucent finish to reveal depth without ornament. Light diffuses softly across the surface, giving the phone a sense of weightlessness. The material feels familiar yet modern, almost as if it belongs equally to the present and the future.

Every detail has intention.
The camera band aligns proportionally with the hinge.
The edges resolve gently into the hand.
The opening movement is smooth, singular, and effortless.
